zara september lookbook

Even thought winter has definitely left us here in Sydney, I was completely mesmerised by the new Zara September Lookbook. The beautifully tailored coats almost makes me wish for winter again. It reminds me of Stella McCartney with Louis Vuitton lace chemise touches. The stunning contrast between the sharp tailoring and the muted colours paired with the soft minimalistic hair and make-up.  Remember the new project I mentioned in my last post? Well, it may involve a trip gallivanting through Europe in early 2014. Which means I need to stock up on some warm coats and winter clothing. What a wonderful coincidence!

DKNY Fall 2013

Images courtesy of Fashion Gone Rogue

I know recently my blog has been everything-except-outfit-posts heavy recently, I've been so slammed at work I've barely had any time to take any photos especially with the early winter sunsets. But, given the choice, I'd rather look at Cara Delevingne rather my mug anyday. I love anyone who is strong enough to be themselves and then be become incredibly successful because they stuck true to their quirky self.

And plus, the above photos are really just perfect winter outfit inspirations.

i watch you move & i can't think straight

I actually promised myself that I'd stop posting editorials, because then I'd be clogging your google reader/bloglovin/internet explorer (dear god, I hope not) with images that are probably already flooding the internet. BUT I couldn't resist with these, it's a mixture of Australian pride and genuine love when I see Miranda Kerr but this editorial really nails it. The styling by Gillian Wilkins is truly amazing and I'm loving the abundance of Australian designers set in the suburban background.

Enjoy!

madame x.

Kendra Spears by Mariano Vivanco for Muse

I've been trying to find a winter jacket that will hopefully last me for the next 30 years. I want something that will be transcend the seasonal style changes but remain classically stylish. I really admire the styling of this editorial- the perfect vintage vibe against the modern and gritty city streets. It almost makes me forgive winter for making the world seem so dull, it reminds me that sometimes a monochromatic palette can make for the most evocative photos.

quiet beauty.

How stunning are these images? But not in the loud obnoxious manner that more often than not, defines our generation. It's the more understated and elegant beauty of an era gone by. It makes me want to sit in a bubble bath and watch Grace Kelly in To Catch A Thief.

beach fantastique.

Call me a masochist, whatever. But the sheer fact that it's been pouring rain and wind like it's 2012 (the movie, not the year) makes me want to indulge in beach themed photo-shoots and then maybe slit my wrist book a flight to the nearest tropical climate asap. Granted, I look nowhere as good sprawled across the sand, but I would like to at least try and get that tanned. And if this means I need to don Vegas Showgirl worthy heels, then that is just my cross to bear.

(I'm not actually, I stole that from Holly Golightly but I'm sure she'd approve. One must always dream big and fanciful right?)
