brightside

Zimmermann 'brightside' dress & shoes | Chloe 'paraty' bag | Ray-Ban aviators

I pretty much spend autumn in perpetual fear of winter. As a season, fashion-wise, it an excellent opportunity
to layer up and indulge in thick knits and luxurious leather. But, as a human being who loves my bed in the morning,
the temperature dropping anything before 20 degrees Celsius gives me anxiety. Which is why, at the simplest
indication of sunshine, I find myself back into my summer clothes like this gorgeous silk Zimmermann dress.
Silk dresses are my absolute favourite for casual Sunday brunch, effortless dressing at its finest.

intimate

Anyone who knows me, would know that I'm a huge sucker for anything lacy, frilly
and anything else in that direction. Always worn with Balenciage leather, of course.
How could you say no to these Free People delicates?

the butch

Zara Mens shirt Winston Wolfe leather shorts | Wittner leopard heels| Alexander Wang bag

There's nothing I like more than shopping in the men's department. I can always find great basics there, perfect
for when you want the slightly undone look. I love pairing slightly oversized shirts, like this blue one I nabbed from
the Zara men's section, with these Winston Wolfe 'the butch' shorts. It's the perfect remedy for days when getting
dressed is feeling like a chore.

lover

If you follow me on instagram (@thechicndamned) you've probably seen this photo already but I really
can't get over how much I love this dress. I'm dying that I didn't get a chance to take proper photos but Sydney
was being rainy and the sun sets way too early these days.

So, this dodgy iPhone photo will have to do for now.

tetris

Sass & bide dress Subtitles jacket (seen here) | Acne 'Rise' boots (seen here)| H&M bag

This dress is something that I've had in my wardrobe for the past year and it's been on

high rotation. It's the perfect shift for summer days where all you're doing is lounging around
and eating. But it also transitions to cooler days, the perfect pop of colour to wear with your
khaki jackets.

But, after a recent epiphany (mostly due to the addition of a built-in wardrobe in my room)

I've realised how much the sheer of volume of my clothing has been weighing me down.
Over the years, I seem to have collected an endless amount of clothing but I constantly find
myself wearing the same pieces or similar items of clothing only, whilst lamenting the sad state
of my wardrobe. But this year is going to be different, I'm getting rid of all my excess clothes
and it will be approached with militant self-control.

Anything that doesn't align with my lifestyle now or my style now, will be gone.

Anything that I've had more than a year but have worn less than 5, will be gone.
Anything that I don't love or am excited to wear, will be gone.
Anything that I'm holding onto purely for sentimental value, will be kept in the garage.
I tried.

Anyways, most of my things will be listed on ebay and then maybe moved to a blog shop.

Everything is genuine and everything is priced extremely well. I really just want
the chance to streamline my wardrobe. My secret dream is to have a wardrobe that I can
walk into and close my eyes, pick out a bunch of random things and for them to all to
mesh into a brilliant outfit. My wardrobe needs to work as my brain, if only I had that

So, shop my ebay here and I'll let you guys know when I set up a blog shop.

outfit perfection

I kind of can't get over this outfit. At any given day, you can always rely on Miranda Kerr
to give you excellent style advice. But this above outfit pretty much defines everything I'm
loving at the moment.

Stripes and leopard have climbed their way up to a must in any outfit that I'm wearing;
so why not wear them both? The ripped jeans will provide both comfort and style.
But what really pulls it all together is that trench coat, the perfect cross between dress-up
sophistication and casual elegance. It reveals a peep of those enigmatic stripes and poof
outfit perfection.

This is what I want to be wearing once the weather settles on autumn.

in her bag

I'm a firm believer that tucked away in the dark recesses of your mind, is a tiny little mini you
who is small parts Tinkerbell and large parts a voyeuristic Tinkerbell. I'm not sure why the Petter Pan
reference is necessary, but magic is always welcome in my life. Now, I don't mean a card-carrying,
night-vision-goggles-using, telescope-owning type of voyeur (but I'm not here to judge) but there's
always an innate fascination with other peoples' lives etc. I mean, gossip magazines have built
a multi-million industry on it, and we, the public, keep buying it even though it contradicts itself
every second week.

But I digress, with Australia Fashion Week almost on its last legs, one of the more interesting
Vogue pieces was a simple "what's in her bag" shoot featuring the Vogue Editors. Without undermining
their fantastic coverage of the shows, this spread on their fashion week handbags lures me the
same way street style lures me. Runways are always capable of providing a fantasy, it lets you dream
about the woman you want to be and how you'd want to dress. Street style let's you see that
translated into the real world, and by that I mean the real world in the fashion sense.

It's no wonder that the fame of editors such as Christine Centenera are beginning to eclipse
the traditional fashion muses. Meanwhile, I'm just trying to get my hands on a pair of those
Celine Shadow sunglasses.

the smell of eucalyptus

Bassike tee Zimmermann blazer | Insight shorts | Comme des garcons clutch| Chloe sandals

I've been so caught up with trying to keep up with MBFW, currently in Sydney, that I'd forgotten that

somewhere out there, in a dusty dinky corner of the internet I had my own like space and blog.
I kid, of course, how could I ever forget my baby?

These shorts are ridiculously comfortable, if denim shorts were capable of being more comfortable
than they already are. It's such a lightweight fabric and rather than a floral design, it's more of
a foliage. It reminds me of warm Australian summers and the smell of eucalyptus trees.

p.s. I'm not sure if anyone else has been trying to keep up with MBFW but I can already see that
my wallet will be feeling the effects of this in a year's time.
