caped crusader?

Shakuhachi cape | T by Alexander Wang tee | J Brand jeans| Prada bag | Nike hi-tops

I think I may have been subconsciously channeling Superman when I bought this burgundy cape. But then again, anything with the word 'cape' in it makes me think of Superheros. Although Miss Edna Mode did always warn that Superheros should stay away from capes; they'll kill ya. But luckily, I'm nowhere near a superhero and only follow their certain fashion choices; emphasis on the certain, you won't be seeing me wear my undies over my pants anytime soon.

In the meantime, cape worn over one of my favourite striped tees is the perfect combination for warm winter dressing.

cameo lace

Ksubi shirt Shakuhachi shorts | Alexander Wang 'rocco' bag | Isabel Marant 'zora' wedges

I think I'm definitely having a shorts phase recently. Whether it's the ubiquitous denim One Teaspoons (here, here & here),
or a fancy silk or printed versions (here, here & here) or just plain ole daisy chain lace. There really is no escaping it on my blog.
I have the most fun with them when I get the chance to mix them with something unusual, like this army print t-shirt
from Ksubi. I love the way it the military print clashes with the much more feminine daisy-chain lace of the shorts. It's also
the most comfortable summer outfit equation; slouchy tee with lots of breathing room for your legs.

monochrome blossoms

shakuhachi top (similar here| one teaspoon denim shorts | sass & bide clutch (similar here| karen walker 'deep freeze' sunglasses

The one fashion rule that my mum ever tried to teach me was the quintessential fashion equation of how to determine how
much skin is too much skin; if you're going to show your legs then hide yourself on top and if you're going to show off
your cleavage then hide yo legs. But given that it's summer where anything more than a thin layer of silk is too much- unless
you're at the beach (see here). I'm so thankful for this Shakuhachi silk tank for its high neckline which acts as the perfect
amount of balance to the denim shorts.

monochrome floral

Nothing is more perfect for the summer heat than silk barely-there clothing.
I've had this Shakuhachi tank hanging in my wardrobe for a while,
waiting for the perfect summery day to debut it.
I love the way it flows so seamlessly with these amazing Lover
lace-trimmed cami shorts. I can see myself wearing variations of this
and silk dresses all summer long.
