good things come in a trio

Nothing better than a holiday newbie!

Now, if only I can get a picture to properly capture the colour of the bag.

15 minutes eternal

Isabel Marant Etoile skirt | St James top | Mister Zimi leather jacket | Senso boots | Chloe bag

I've been having the most amazing time on my holiday, I actually have barely thought about
blogging. Previously, I was so sure that I'd use this amazing opportunity to take lots of exotic photos
but really, I've just been trying to soak up as much as I can.

After a gruelling 24+ hours, I finally made my way from Phuket, Thailand to Japan's Narita Airport.
The change in climate is such an adjustment, along with the difference of the society in general.
I just came back from going out for a wander around Shinjuku and the cold was very
confronting, especially since I've spent the last 10 days in nothing but One Teaspoon shorts and
Bassike tanks.

I'm missing the more temperate winters of Hong Kong, my first destination, so I decided to get my act
together and post these photos from when I was lucky enough to catch the Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Eternal
exhibition at the Hong Kong Museum of Art. It's in commemoration of the 25th year of his death. I can't
say that I've always been a Warhol fan or knew any of his works besides the rudimentary
ones that most people are exposed to. However, after seeing the exhibition I feel that I have a
greater understanding of the principles behind his work and it was interesting just to see the way
in which his paintings and sculptures developed over time. I don't think I'm lying if I said
that this was probably the most memorable experience that I'm taking away from Hong Kong
(especially since I've been twice before). Well, the Exhibition and my Celine experience-
although they were on the same day so really, its the same thing.

I promise to post some more photos soon, in the meantime, I'll be on instagram- @thechicndamned.

p.s. if you find yourself crossing paths with the Andy Warhol exhibition, thank yourself by going there-
and then you can come and thank me later!

quick break

Mister Zimi leather jacket | H&M floral pants | Alexander McQueen scarf | Senso boots

I've been in Hong Kong for the past few days and I've been so busy hitting all the shopping spots
that I haven't had any time to take any photos. That and the intense crowd makes me nervous to stop
in the middle of the street - fear of being trampled over. The winter has surprisingly been quite mild
and so these new H&M floral pants were the perfect answer. This is just a quick photo I posted
on instagram, hopefully I'll be able to post something else soon- otherwise I'll be relying on some backlog
from Sydney.

round up

Zara jeans // Sportsgirl slip & clutch // Subtitled jacket // Sunday Somewhere sunglasses // Nine West heels

I've been mentally debating for awhile about what my last post for 2012 should be,
to be truthful, I'm super corny and so I want it to be representative of both what the past
year has been about and what I'm looking forward to in the coming year. But, seriously,
how can one outfit be that expressive?

So, I decided to go which this above outfit (this was out of a choice of two- now, imagine
how indecisive I am when I shop, probably why I always end up with just both).
This was the year I truly discovered the boyfriend jeans, so it was only apt that it'll
feature in my last post of the year. The lingerie-esque top/dress/slip is a reminder to myself
that I should always enjoy fashion and continue to have fun with my blog. Like the
boyfriend jeans, I've been living in my khaki jacket- the perfect thing to throw on in
any occasion especially with the freakish not-really-cold-not-really-hot weather we've
been having.

Sparkly shoes were a necessity.
How can it be NYE if you're not wearing something sparkly?
(although, truth be told these photos were taken during Christmas-
another season whom equally deserves, if not more, sequins and all things sparkly).

I hope you have a  great NYE & an amazing New Year to follow

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Aje catara skirt // Dannika Zen tank // YSL belle du jour

I just wanted to take the opportunity to wish everyone a
MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I finished the most hectic week of work yesterday and want
to do nothing but relax and hang with family & friends.
Christmas is never complete without an appropriate amount
of sparkles & sequins & fairy lights, so don't forget to add the
perfect amount of sparkles to your outfit with a white Aje
sequin skirt that is reminiscent of snow and a white Christmas that
isn't enjoyed in Australia.

Although, what says Christmas more than a traditional
Australian barbecue. That means sausage sizzle, fresh prawns,
close friends & family, cold beer & lots of presents awaiting.
So I hope you're enjoying the holiday season and I'll
be back to my regular blogging schedule after Boxing Day.

palm beach// day 02

Sportsgirl top // Isabel Marant skirt // Topshop jacket // Senso 'bertina' boots

The thing about impromptu roadtrips is last minute packing;
the lack of having your whole wardrobe with you
is the opportunity of being able to put together outfits
that you normally wouldn't imagine.

p.s. yes, these are the forgotten photos from the second part of the Palm Beach "series"

palm beach

happiness // view from the hotel of the marina
beach chic at the barrenjoey // summer is all about the beach
having our own party in the hotel // dessert goodness
my favourite hydrangeas & peonies // brunch at the boathouse

In a random burst of spontaneity, two of my girlfriends and I
found ourselves on a mini roadtrip to Palm Beach.
The word mini is imperative, Palm Beach is still in Sydney.
We stayed at Newport, which made me sprout
"Welcome to the OC, bitch"
way more often than necessary (which should be zero).
But it was wonderful to get away from everything for
two days, especially when the company is wonderful

palm beach// day 01

All about eve shirt // One Teaspoon shorts // Seafolly bandeau

There's nothing better than relaxing by the beach on a sunny day,
until the sun starts playing hide'n'seek in the clouds.
But then, it's a whole different feel which doesn't take away from
the amazing view. Nothing says summer like denim shorts and
oversized shirts with lace paneling.

new york, new york

images courtesy of the tumblr gods

New York Fashion Week is well and truly underway, and even though I won't be there myself- I can hardly contain my excitement! I'm not sure if it's a childhood spent watching Friends and Sex & the City, anticipation at seeing some of my favourite designers and bloggers frolic in my favourite city, although truth be told, I just want to see Ms Palermo do her thang. Rather than boring you with the same catwalk shots as every other blog out there I want to pay homage to the beautiful city. Even though I haven't been to New York before, I feel like I have spent many lifetimes there already. I don't think I could ever get sick of looking at this city.

Fashion weeks aside, my dream is to spend Christmas in New York amidst the snow, the fairy lights and Blair Waldorf dressed in fur. Until then, tumblr shall be my friend.

tea gardens.

In an effort to blog daily, especially outfit shots I've left some other photos unattended. Better late than never right? Here's a small collection of photos from a recent trip to NSW Central Coast's Tea Gardens.

I've always been a dreamer, so when I heard that it was a place called Tea Gardens I imagined quaint cafes for brunch, walks by the seaside and lazy days spent by the beach. The weather wasn't the most co-operative and Monopoly (Disney edition, of course) filled out days and nights. On the last day, we found a place called Bluey's Beach which was so idyllic that I could barely remember home.

can't wait for my next holiday!
