leather theory

Theory jumper, Bassike striped tee, ASOS leather skirt, Celine trio bag in 'rust', Converse sneakers, Karen Walker 'deep freeze' sunglasses

I'm really been enjoying the recent cold chill in the weather. It is most definitely my favourite time of the year (and not just because it's around my birthday). I love watching the trees in my backyard turn into a spectacular fiery hue, except for the Frangipani who is still standing strong and blooming. I've been trying to spend some time cleaning out my wardrobe and so far, all I've managed to do is to dig out a few jumpers and cause a greater mess than before.

Every year, I try to organise my wardrobe before buying for the new season. It's especially important with the shop on the verge of launching and going live, I can't emphasis how much I've ordered for myself. If I don't familiarise myself with what I already have, I will undoubtedly end up with something new but very similar; I really don't stray away from the tried and tested monochrome. Things like this Theory jumper, which I've had for almost a year and half now, has been on high rotation lately and if I hadn't found it in my winter stack in time, I most likely would have ended up purchasing something in that family.

I'm really enjoying shopping from my own wardrobe these days. I am so excited to share my "curation" with you guys!

revisiting the suede

Bassike tee, Forever 21 suede skirt, Kahlo vest (seen here), 3.1 Phillip Lim d'orsay heels (seen here), Celine clutch, Karen Walker sunglasses

Lately, I've been trying to "revisit" old pieces in my wardrobe rather than buying new clothes; I'm not saying it's working but I've been trying. This is mainly for 2 reasons, I really really want to cull my wardrobe so that it's more manageable (lack of outfits is primarily due to too much choice rather than lack thereof) and with the new shop I've been absolutely horrible and sneaked way too many personal orders in. Whoops.

This suede skirt was a miracle find from Forever 21. It's the perfect mini skirt cut and the fabric really adds a little something extra to any outfit.

fluffy leopard

Asos leather skirt (seen here & here), Bassike tee (seen here & here), LV Speedy 30, Isabel Marant boots (seen here & here)

Leather skirts are such an easy choice when you're barely awake in the morning. I love wearing leather with absolutely anything- especially with a fluffy leopard. Leather really toughens up a look, especially with this leopard cardigan which could potentially go very wrong. I mean, that is a lot of leopard. So, I played it safe and wore the leopard cardigan with a lot of muted greys and my go-to taupe Isabel Marant boots.

what's better than regular?

Bassike tee | Mango suede jacket| Current Elliot boyfriend jeans | Isabel Marant Dicker boots (seen here)| Chloe Paraty bag (seen here and here)

What's better than ordinary boyfriend jeans? Well, white boyfriend jeans of course! It has all the comfort of wearing boyfriend jeans plus the added chic of it being white. There's nothing I love more that wearing white with a nice tan...or my Isabel Marant boots.

detoxing

Rag & Bone knit (seen here| Bassike skirt (seen here| Zara braided handle tote

Recently I've been really trying to get the most out of my wardrobe. Aside from the occasional slip of control and constant devil on my shoulder telling me to shop - I've been good. Well, at least I think I've been good. With all the money that I've been saving, I've been splurging on fresh flowers which constantly add to my happy mood. It must be the detox speaking. And now, I've amassed a huge stack of clothing in one corner of my room that's waiting for me to put on tictail/ebay/markets. I enjoy the challenge of reworking certain pieces in a different way and really get my penny's worth.

Here's to hoping that I don't fall off the wagon anytime soon!

sunset on stripes

Bassike top | Mister Zimi leather jacket | Zara skirt| Madewell belt | Topshop heels | Celine clutch

I know I always say I never know how to wear colour but this flirty blue-ish purple skirt makes it so easy. It's not a crazy pop of colour because I'm saving all that for when its summer and I'm tanned. I had fun wearing this with stripes (as always) and with because I bought the skirt at Zara on sale and a size too big, I needed a makeshift hip belt to avoid any scarring (for bystanders) mishaps. Lucky it wasn't windy that day either. Colours are definitely easier to wear when they're less neon and paired with lots of black.

dressed in stripes

Bassike dress | Acne 'Rita' leather jacket | Rag & Bone 'Harrow' boots| Celine two tone clutch

I'm sure by now everyone knows about my somewhat un-healthy relationship with stripes and leather. So basically, this is outfit heaven for me. The perfect Bassike striped dress which I've actually been contemplating cutting to just above my knee, or maybe I'll just get used to the longer length once I wear it more?

Up until now, I've only been wearing my beloved Acne leather jacket within the confines of my home because I've been trying to wear in the leather so that it loses its stiffness. However, after much contemplating I finally wore it out during the past weekend. It was the perfect weather last Saturday, it was amazing to dine alfresco and just bask in the warm winter sun.

plaids and paisley

Bassike tee | Zara shirt | Pierre Balmain skirt| H&M bag | Nike roshe

Just a quick post from the weekend. I love winter days that are sunny and warm enough for bare legs.

rainy days wear

rainy days

For the past fortnight, it's been rainy cats and dogs in Sydney. Whilst its made taking outfit photos a bitch, it's made getting dressed a lot easier. Basically different versions of jeans, something soft and knitted and my loved striped tees. I really need to get my act together and invest in a pair of Hunter boots. Just can't decide on which one I want yet!
