rainy days wear

rainy days

For the past fortnight, it's been rainy cats and dogs in Sydney. Whilst its made taking outfit photos a bitch, it's made getting dressed a lot easier. Basically different versions of jeans, something soft and knitted and my loved striped tees. I really need to get my act together and invest in a pair of Hunter boots. Just can't decide on which one I want yet!

dope ass kicks

Bassike tee (sale here| Aje 'catara' skirt | Giuseppe Zanotti sneakers (similar here & here| Juicy Couture necklace | Saint Laurent 'belle du jour' clutch (similar here) | Chloe sunglasses

No joke, I got so many compliments on my 'kicks' that day (rather than my newly cut short hair) that I ended up with
the biggest head. By the end of the day, I was ready to move to LA and hang with the best (i.e. Song of Style).

It's now the third day since cutting my hair and admittedly, I did suffer slight buyers remorse this morning but I'm glad
to say that my haircut and I have overcome our three day itch and all is happy in the kingdom. After all, what can I do?
I can hardly go back and demand that my longer locks be re-attached.

I can't wait to go back this Saturday and get some colour put in (or take out?)
My haircut meant that all my coloured tips are now gone and I haven't had black hair since early high school, which
sadly is a very long time ago. I wanted to embrace the black locks but due to the sheer amount of hair I have, it's
way too overwhelming for the summer heat.

flower bomb at hyde park

josh goot tank | one teaspoon skirt | yves saint laurent 'muse' bag | senso bertina boots | bangles: dannijo & fashionology

Josh Goot is one of those designers that I always have trouble resisting, as you can see in this previous post
He always augments his collections with a variety of tanks & tees in his latest 'print of the season' and because of
my mostly casual style- it's only logical to stock up. I love how much the flower bomb print jumps and instantly
updates a tried and tested combination of tank & short skirt in the summer. You can never go wrong with
some additional silk into your daily summer outfit.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Aje catara skirt // Dannika Zen tank // YSL belle du jour

I just wanted to take the opportunity to wish everyone a
MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I finished the most hectic week of work yesterday and want
to do nothing but relax and hang with family & friends.
Christmas is never complete without an appropriate amount
of sparkles & sequins & fairy lights, so don't forget to add the
perfect amount of sparkles to your outfit with a white Aje
sequin skirt that is reminiscent of snow and a white Christmas that
isn't enjoyed in Australia.

Although, what says Christmas more than a traditional
Australian barbecue. That means sausage sizzle, fresh prawns,
close friends & family, cold beer & lots of presents awaiting.
So I hope you're enjoying the holiday season and I'll
be back to my regular blogging schedule after Boxing Day.

camouflaged sequins

Nothing is more fun than wearing camouflage with something
ostentatious, like this Aje sequinned skirt, and a classic YSL clutch,
stolen from your my mother's closet.

I had initially toyed with the idea of wearing a Little Black Dress/Jacket
since I was going to see the Chanel Exhibition. But surely even Mlle Chanel
wouldn't say no to some camouflage. After all, she did always find
inspiration in military wear.

lacey underthings

lacey underthings

My mood and the weather these days makes me want to wear nothing else but shorts skirts, like this white Etoile Isabel Marant corduroy version, or denim shorts a la One Teaspoon with simple white tees or muscle tees (by none other than Bassike) and this slight oversized camouflage jacket. Or a simple but statement sweatshirt if I can ever get my hands on this Kenzo version. This of course needs to be worn with these Chloe boots, which I keep trying (and failing) to save up for.

But the ultimate luxury lies in the little details; the subtle scent of perfume and the light coat of lipstick. But more importantly, the knowledge that you're wearing amazingly delicate lace lingerie underneath it all. Time to splurge on the La Perla, darlings.

apparently SLP has a better ring than YSL?

yves saint no more?

Unless you've been living under a rock that has no internet connection, and if you're with Vodafone- you probably don't need to be under a rock to not receive internet connection- you'd know that under the helm of Hedi Slimane the new ready-to-wear lines from the iconic brand Yves Saint Laurent will officially become Saint Laurent Paris. Apparently the traditionally interlocked initial YSL stamp will remain unaltered on the handbags, shoes and cosmetics but I question how long that will remain. It's one of the most recognisable logos in the world...and some new guy thinks thinks that he has the right to alter that legacy? I get that he thinks he's drawing his inspiration from the first collection which was named 'Saint Laurent Rive Gauche' but isn't that a tad bit ironic considering he's already moved the design studios to LA? Perhaps the addition of 'Paris' to the name is overcompensation for the recent address change? Someone needs to tell the boy to buy a Ferrari and get over it.

I say it's time to stock up on YSL pieces before your clutch comes with an S lock. Unless someone within the PPR Group recognises the stupidity atrocious nature of this decision and gets a new creative director stat (Mr Pinault, I'm looking at you!). Or perhaps a quiet name change back to YSL?

Anyways, my main point is this: turn off your computer, put on some (still YSL) lipstick and go forth and buy some YSL before everything goes down the pooper. I personally have my eyes on those leopard hi-tops.

virtual basket

virtual basket

Uni is officially over for this semester but unfortunately time that used to be earmarked for shopping has now been replaced by work and saving for an overseas holidays. So I've been entertaining myself with riveting games of 'if money was no issue, what would i buy'. Aside from the obligatory hermes that I would like to roll around in, here are a few things that I'm loving at the moment.

Givenchy has been coming out with some killer tees, I'm especially loving this Rottweiler print. They have it also in black in the muscle tee style but this has the added benefit of covering my arms.
I'm not quite sure why, or whether if I even like this Acne leather pants. It's not so much a testament to their style but rather my willingness to wear them. I've been trying to step out of my comfort zone lately but this might be a whole other level.
The Hermes cuff and the Dannijo are things that I've wanted for quite a while now. They deserve to be worn with those Acne boots. These Marant wedges I actually talked out of my shopping basket. They are kind of amazing, perfect for summer and a white lace-trimmed dress. So if you're not saving for a holiday and aren't afraid of falling from huge heights- you need these.
The Givenchy & Celine bags are the perfect colour to take you from summer to winter and back to summer again.
And the Diptyque candle? That's just to set the mood so you can keep online shopping. I did say that money is no issue.
