sunset on stripes

Bassike top | Mister Zimi leather jacket | Zara skirt| Madewell belt | Topshop heels | Celine clutch

I know I always say I never know how to wear colour but this flirty blue-ish purple skirt makes it so easy. It's not a crazy pop of colour because I'm saving all that for when its summer and I'm tanned. I had fun wearing this with stripes (as always) and with because I bought the skirt at Zara on sale and a size too big, I needed a makeshift hip belt to avoid any scarring (for bystanders) mishaps. Lucky it wasn't windy that day either. Colours are definitely easier to wear when they're less neon and paired with lots of black.

mosaic

Glassons dress | Current/Elliot jacket (see here| Converse sneakers| Zara braided handle tote

The perfect outfit for running around between brunch, work and studying at uni. I really like the mosaic-like pattern on this Glassons dress, especially how the change in the print gives the dress a drop-waist feel. And what better jacket to wear over this dress than my Current/Elliot trench-military jacket goodness? Can't wait for the weather to stay warm so I can wear this jacket more!

dickers

Cotton On  sweater | Zara skort Isabel Marant Dicker boots | Karen Walker deep freeze sunglasses

I wore this outfit out to brunch recently, I was excited to bare my legs (as always) so I paired my worn-around-the-block-and-back white Zara skorts with this slouchy Cotton On jumper. It's always exciting to find clothes that don't come with a price tag that make you lose your lunch or cause you to spend the next two hours justifying its purchase. This Cotton On jumper was a no-brainer for me, I love anything that looked textured and loose. The perfect sweater so that I can pig out at brunch!

But, can we have a moment for my new Isabel Marant 'Dicker' boots? I've had my eyes on them for awhile and finally decided to bite the bullet during the new Isabel Marant drop on Net-A-Porter about a month ago. I pretty much wear boots all through the year, even during the summer and I realised that I needed a more neutral pair to balance out all the pairs of black boots that I've accumulated over the years. You will definitely be seeing more of these boots over the summer. (Maybe even a pair of Dickers in the black?)

until the clouds blow away

Ralph Lauren cashmere sweater | Helmut Lang skirt Mister Zimi leather jacket | Rag & Bone Harrow boots (see here)| Celine trio bag | Dannijo Vala necklace

The sudden drop in temperature meant that I could give my winter knits another round in the (non-existent) sun. But, I've been too comfortable in bare legs to actually put on pants or stockings. I like wearing this Helmut Lang skirt because the fun twist in it adds a little bit of drama to the outfit. Although, it does seem rather counter-productive to wear cashmere & leather on the top with that much ventilation on the bottom?

Sometimes it's just fun to throw together some well-loved items and call it an outfit; my all-time favourite denim shorts, the Senso boots that travelled with me in Asia, the Celine trio that I wear with everything, comfy knit and Karen Walker 'deep freeze' sunglasses that are paired with everything.

snake print

Equipment sweater | Alice & Olivia shorts (see here & here| Willow 'work' boots (see here, here here)| Celine two tone clutch (here, here & here)
Since turning the ripe of age of 21 a few years back, I've been lamenting my old age. All maladies, real or imagined, have been laid in front of old age's door. The most noticeable of which is the fact that I don't really know how to wear colour and/or patterns anymore, especially in winter. All bursts of colour have been subdued to lipsticks, accessories and the occasional printed denim. When I'm feeling really crazy, I wear navy like its nobody's business.

For the past season or two, the one print that's really gotten past my new-found, age-induced barrier against colours and prints, is the Proenza Schouler snake print and the Josh Goot snake print. So, when I saw this bright yellow snakeprint cashmere sweater from Equipment, there was minimal hesitation before my credit card was out and ready for action.

Perhaps old age merely meant no prints except for those found on animals? Because I don't think I'll ever stop loving leopard.

white winter

Joie sweater | J Brand jeans | Zara heels| Celine two tone clutch | Ray-Ban sunglasses

White jeans are an interesting addition into my winter wardrobe this year, it's been the perfect choice for warm sunny winter days. It allows me to wear my usual black/grey/navy without feeling to burdened by dark colours. It goes amazingly well with all my sweaters, which mostly lie on the oversized side. I love how cosy this Joie sweater is. It has the perfect cowl neck which saves me the trouble of having to wear any necklaces. Lazy days perfection.

I can't wait to wear these white jeans during spring with light silk Equipment shirts!
