cropped, my way.

Zara cropped top & sunglasses, 3.1 Phillip Lim skirt, Saba fur vest, Senso bertina boots, Dannijo vala necklace, Hermes watch, Celine clutch

I think over the years, the most important thing I've learnt (sartorially speaking anyways) is the need to steer away from trends that do not suit my body shape. It's one of those things that you need to be brutally honest about, because there's nothing worse than wearing something that's ill-fitted or show off the parts that you'd rather remain hidden. As much as I am for self-love and empowerment, I fail to see how that can be achieved if I'm wearing something that I'm uncomfortable in.

Which leads me to the topic of the latest trend that I've been avoiding like the plague- cropped top. I've never felt the need to flaunt my abdomen, so I've avoided crop tops as much as they've avoided me. But the more I see them, the more I want to hop onto the bandwagon. I found this beauty in Zara and could not resist, the long sleeves add a casual "tee" element of the top, not to mention it's in my favourite print-stripes, and it's perfect paired with a high-waited skirt. (This leather 3.1 Philip Lim dress deserves a post on its own, one of the most amazing leather pieces that I own!)

pre-holiday

Helmut Lang skirt | H&M top | Saba leather jacket | Madewell belt | Alexander Wang bag | Topshop heels

I'm currently in Thailand but here's some more backlog photos from
before I left. The perfect outfit for ambiguous weather, everyone needs a
skirt with a slit up to there for hot days and a leather jacket for
when it gets cold and windy.

Red lips are just appropriate for any weather condition.

summer leathers

Bassike tank dress | Saba leather jacket | Topshop heels | Zara clutch | Karen Walker 'deep freeze' sunglasses | Juicy Couture necklace | Dannijo bracelet | low luv bangle | vintage belt

I'm not sure if this holds true for anyone else, but I find myself needing to layer after a few consecutive days of
authentic summer weather. Of course I don't mean layering in temperatures where its only appropriate to play a game
of "what's the least amount of clothes I can wear without being called out for public indecency", however the minute
the temperature drops to anything in the vicinity of anywhere below 30s- I have either my leather or denim
jacket ready and prepped to go. This explains why, during the Australian heat waves, I'm wearing my leather
jacket- there was a rare day of rest from the sweltering heat and I embraced it.

variations of such

Current Elliot jeans // Wrangler knit // Saba leather jacket // Country Road tote // Tony Bianco 'Karissa' heels // Madewell belt

I can't believe that it's December and I'm still able to wear my leather jacket. Granted,
it's probably thinner than most denim jacket I own, it still serves as a reminder of what
a tease summer has been this year. Well, it gives me a chance to air out my favourite
Current/Elliot polka dot jeans (worn previously here). They're the perfect understated
statement jeans, it adds the perfect amount of quirky to any outfit without completely
overpowering it.

These photos were taken just up the street from Orto Trading Co. where my boyfriend
& I decided to go to celebrate the end of my intense week of summer school. I originally
had grand plans of being able to take photos for le blog after classes but even I didn't
want to subject anyone to my face after 9 hours of 'interpretations of contract law".
But you're not really missing out on much, it was pretty much variations of the above,
with the occasional pair of One Teaspoon shorts thrown in (you know how obsessed
I am). But I've been busy this weekend, so be prepared for a blogging onslaught.

incoming storm.

t bar 'guns n roses' tee // zara printed scarf skirt // wasteland studded boots // saba leather jacket // miu miu clutch //
house of harlow ring // fashionology skull bracelet

Baby, if I could use photoshop the way I could use MS Word- I would cut and delete you all over. Sorry, you're interrupting my conversation with Mr Teelafone Polle over here. You see, he insists on photobombing in the background- says that he can't help it and that he doesn't understand woman yada ya. He needs to know that there's an incoming storm and he's ruining the view of Mr Storme Claud. It's all that excitement and frisson, you know?

God I hope you're not rotting your brain from reading the above. I 'stole' this leather jacket from my mum's closet, but considering the times she takes my military jackets- I think we're pretty much on even. Except for the giving birth to me and everything, that's a whole other birkin to worry about. Do you see those shoes? AH-mazing. It's as if the Acne Pistol (which has subsequently been moved down the wish list) went to a bachelor party, got drunk and went to Kings Cross for some ill-fated piercings...and a few tassels. Except that it turned out looking pretty funky and a lot cheaper.

And if that shoe really went on an adventure, then it had a better weekend than me. And now, isn't that insolvency law case note sad?
