Work.

Zimmermann silk top, Willow silk shorts, Willow 'Work' boots, Chanel Boy Bag, Celine sunglasses, Jennifer Zeuner necklaces

To be afforded the opportunity to travel is always a blessing and I still can't wrap my mind around the places that I've been able to travel to this past month. However, if there's one thing (besides a home cooked meal for once) that I've missed during my tenure of living-out-of-my-suitcase is my wardrobe, or namely my shoes. I've always had an unhealthy obsession with shoes and there's nothing more that I love splurging on - except bags, or maybe clothing - maybe I just have a shopping problem?

After landing in Sydney from Bali on Wednesday, it was straight into work the next two days which meant the wardrobe that I've missed was still eluding me. So when Saturday rolled in, I was not going to let it go by without decking out in some of my favourite Australian designers to go with my recent Paris splurge. These Willow boots have barely left my feet ever since I bought them almost a year ago.

Best Investment Ever.

accented red

It's not everyday that you can find a place to take photos that match your outfit to the T, but when you're walking the streets
of Paddington, there's more than just an abundance of locations to find just that. You can see how happy I am in that last
photo, but that might also be because I finally got around to getting my hair coloured AND I'm wearing my favourite
texture for this summer; leather (as you can see here). This leather singlet is the perfect balance to a pair of flimsy
pyjama-styled shorts. Overcast weather simply means that I can wear leather without the fear of sweating it off.

rainy days

Sass & Bide jumper | Rag & Bone 'portobello' leather shorts (seen here & here| Converse studded sneakers | Mulberry clutch

In the oh so glamorous world of fashion blogging, there are a few universal truths. Aside from throwing away all the rules
you learnt as a child (i.e. you should never judge a book by its cover- instead, you learn to play your 'cover' to your strengths),
there is the universal importance placed on the unwavering search for the mythological perfect lighting. Sometimes,
someone up there shines a smile your way and you hit that perfect spot; the lighting equivalent of the 'G Spot' except
only harder to find.

And then there are days, or weekends, filled with so much rain that you knew you wouldn't even be able to wait for a break
to sneak a few shots in (photographic shots, not the tequila kind- there's always room for that). That was pretty much the
weekend that past; rain so miserable and dreary that we might as well live in London. But somehow, I got lucky and I was
able to take a few photos after lunching at the Cross. It was a simple outfit, perfect for a rainy summer's day.

comfort bubble

I think it's always important to push yourself outside of your comfort zone, both sartorially and in life generally (because
apparently at the wise old age of 22, I feel ancient enough to give such sage and learned advice- you can choose to not listen
but that will be at your own detriment). I joke , of course- about the ancient part not the comfort bubble part. For the
longest time, I was always scared to wear bright colours and to be honest, it's a fear that hasn't truly left me. I've long come
to terms with the fact that I will never be as comfortable in a bright red or a bright yellow as I will be in my greys,
whites and blacks. If I want colour in my outfit, it's usually done through accessories or shades that aren't as bright
as my top here. But once in a while, it's nice to challenge that preconceived notion, even if its self-imposed; and when
I do, I always match it with clothes that I'm comfortable in i.e. these Rag & Bone leather shorts.

casual saturday.

zara star print blouse // glassons navy cable knit // j brand aidan slouchy boy jeans // aldo jw alderson eakins heels // jennifer zeuner horizontal bar necklace // witchery bag

Just a short post for today- I've been spending my days at uni working on my last two essays for my mid-semester exams. But cheerfully coloured heels always have a way of brightening my days a little bit. I recently bought these heels from the JW Alderson line for Aldo Rise and am absolutely loving them, already they are not as comfortable as my Tony Bianco karissa heels; but they add some insta-colour to my outfit. Anything to make me feel good during a full day of studying.
